Multi-Stream is a key feature of the DVB-S2 standard. Using Input Stream Identifiers (ISI), multiple Transport Streams can be multiplexed together. This ‘aggregation’ increases the efficiency of the transmission and reduces the number of required satellite carriers.

VCM is a transmission technique introduced by the DVB-S2 standard. VCM allows each Transport Stream, in a Multi-Stream environment, to be transmitted using different modulation and coding combinations on the same carrier.
