The SSC (Satellite Systems Corporation) Model 4841 is an affordable switchable Block Downconverter for both C-band and full global Ku-bands, as well as a pass-thru path for L-band. The unit contains integral RF routing. Simply enter the desired Frequency via the front panel keypad or Remote Control, and the appropriate BDC is selected and routed to the L-band output jack on the rear panel. An option is available to automatically control a Satellite Systems slave-mode Beacon Receiver. In this mode, the Beacon Receiver serial control cable is connected to the Conversion Station, thus allowing the customer to simply enter the desired L-, C-, or Ku-band frequency, and the Beacon Receiver will automatically tune the correct L-band frequency. The only front panel control needed on the Slave Beacon Receiver is the Reference level adjustment, which can also be adjusted remotely. All controls are made via front panel keypad and display or Remote Control via the user selected RS-232, RS-485/422, or Ethernet. When used with the SSC Beacon Receiver with Slave mode, all M&C communications for both the Conversion Station and the Beacon Receiver are routed thru the Conversion Station. Thus only one M&C connection is required.
